Ok, I live in a fairly small market that doesn’t have a lot of choice on the radio (unless you are into Country music, then you’ve got lots of choice) and from 9am - when NPR’s news goes off the air - and 10am - when the good music comes onto our loc ... Continue reading »

  • Well, we could all email him at mancow@mancow.com - I did. Though given his ranty proclivities and idiotic statements, he likely will have to have someone else read it to him.

This did not help my bitchtastic mood :)
  • I emailed him as well. It would be nice if people got their facts straight! Thank goodness that I now live in a very rural place (one w/out Mancow)...

But I am glad that you had your ears open and that you were able to let us all know his latest rant!

If anyone else wants to email Mancow, here is some ammo:

Books on the banned book list are books that have been challenged by various groups and are... "reported to or recorded by the Office for Intellectual Freedom, as compiled by the Office for Intellectual Freedom, American Library Association". From the ALA website

A classic case of shooting the messenger, if I ever heard it. What a shame.

  • Actually, (and don't throw eggs at me) I'm not going to flame Mancow on this one. Was what he said way over the top, completely inaccurate, and totally irresponsible? Yep. Absolutely. Is what he said exactly what he's paid to do? Yep. Absolutely. Here we are talking about his show on a forum that otherwise would never even dream of posting a "..I heard on Mancow this morning.." type of gossip. He's a shock jock and gets paid by having listeners for his sponsors. He got you to listen much longer than you would have otherwise, and probably got a few ad spots in there along the way. He did his job, and did it quite successfully from what it appears.
