Thanks for the link - I've not tried protopages so will have a look (your link didn't work for me, BTW). One of the interesting things about my PLE/PWE was that it's just sort of built up over time, I didn't set out to create one. I suppose you could argue it isn't really an environment in that there is little integration between the tools, but it is an environment conceptually, ie I think of all these tools as the way I go about my work. I fixed the link - thanks for the heads up... I really liked the idea of the mixed environments you mentioned in your post - the work/learning/recreation stuff all mixed together. It's pretty much how I live - I work in the same place and on the same machine at which I play. After reading all these mentions of PLEs, the more integrated approach you laid out really seemed to work for me!
